Whimsical Village Canvas

This is Carmen sharing with you this whimsical village canvas which has some of my favorite collage and ephemera pieces.  Last year I found a New York City "Street Listings and Maps" book from 1964.  It was perfect for creating the houses with my RubberMoon stamps.

The stamps I used were Lovely Loft House, Crooked Chimney House, and Row House.  The background is layers of vintage music sheets that were created on a Gelli Plate.  I have quite a stash of them and that makes it easy to pick and choose.

I wanted to add a little bit more texture and dimension to the canvas so I used some chipboard texture sheet in Checkerboard from Gina's Designs.  It's very easy to cut into the size you want.  I then spritzed it with Imagine Crafts Irresistible in Bronze, and shaded the edges with the new StazOn midi in Ganache.

I adhered it to the canvas with some tacky glue and then sealed it with gel medium.

The houses were highlighted with Elementz metallic markers and Fude Ball black pen on the edges.

Holiday ATC's - RubberMoon & Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Product Swap

IMAGINE Crafts and RubberMoon Art Stamps are excited to share with you the amazing projects that our design teams have created to kick off the Holiday Season! Over the next few days, we'll be sharing with you inspiration and techniques using IMAGINE Crafts' line of ink products featuring rubber stamps from RubberMoon. Be sure to visit the IMAGINE Crafts and RubberMoon blogs daily for more projects and ideas!

Hello friends, this is Carmen, and I'm sharing with you today some ATC cards with a Holiday theme.  I started off with some cards from Inchies Arts squares, they are so easy to work with and take all kinds of mediums.

I painted a layer of acrylic paint first then used a texture sheet from Gina's Designs as a stencil with Imagine Crafts Fireworks spray in Summer sky.  It's a very soft look.

The Peace on Earth stamp was used with the Delicata pigment ink pad in Silvery Shimmer.

I cut part of the texture sheet and embossed it with black powder using the Versamark embossing pad

The embossed texture sheet was adhered with some Creative Gel Medium.

A final spritz of Shimmer spray in Frost and it's done.

The second card I started with a layer of acrylic paint and adhered some book page strips for a more vintage look.

I gave it some more color by adding StazOn midi pad in Emerald City with Ink Blushers sponges.

I had a couple of pieces of wood embellishments and enhanced them with some Fireworks spray in Lady bug.

For this card I used the lovely Ornaments Border stamp with Delicata in Gold.

I painted in the ornaments with the Fireworks in Lady Bug.

And the finished card...

I made one last one completely different from the Holiday theme.  This steampunk card of gears is made with the Gears stamp, irRESIStible texture sprays, and texture sheet in gears.

I love how all of them came out, each one of them unique, colorful and full of texture.  All of these products worked great together.  The only problem I had was trying to decide which ones to use!  Which I guess is a good problem.

Thanks so much for visiting with us today!  Please browse around and check out the other great projects by our team.

Happy Holidays!

Oh Joy! Holiday Card by Carmen Whitehead

Hello Friends!  It's Carmen here and I'm so happy to be back sharing with you some stamping inspiration.  Christmas time is my favorite time of the year.  As soon as Halloween is over I start decorating and watching Holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel!  I created this card with my newest RubberMoon stamps and I love how they worked with the gold ink.

I started with Strathmore's watercolor paper cards and taped off a tree shape, I spritzed it with Imagine Crafts Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold.  I then layered a stencil on top, taped off the same size shape and applied Staz-On ink in Emerald City shade with an Ink Blushers sponge.

The brilliant gold ink is Delicata in Golden Glitz.  I used RubberMoon's Christmas Ornaments Border, Oh Joy, and Fall Border.  They all worked great with this very rich ink, all of the details stamped perfectly.  I do recommend cleaning your stamps well after using this ink.

I gave it one last spray with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle.  It's a  little hard to see it in the picture, but the card has a wonderful shimmer to it.

I kept it simple with this card using only two colors, but these stamps would also look wonderful using more traditional Holiday colors and filling in the spaces.

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.  Remember to come back and visit often,  there's lots of inspiration happening now on the blog.

Blessings,

Whimsical Watercolor Houses

Hello friends!  Carmen here stopping by from Serendipity Studio to share my very first post with RubberMoon Stamps.  So exciting!

I'm lovin' my new stamps and how versatile they are to use on different papers, canvases and mediums.  For my first go round I decided to do a watercolor painting using Strathmore Watercolor Paper cold press 5.5" x 8.5".  I used a standard watercolor set and a set of Pro Arte Artists brushes in sizes #8, #6 and #2 for the details.

I used Ranger Archival Ink for the stamping.  The stamps went on evenly and smoothly, no spaces!  I love that!

The doodle trees, pathways and grass were created using Micron Pen .03 mm.

The images of the houses and dangle hearts are the perfect size for adding watercolor and being able to give them dimension by adding more/or less water and color.

The stamps that I used were:

Lovely Loft House db4265

Crooked Chimney House db4793

Row House db4452

Love Grows ge2881

Here is a brief video of this creative process...

I plan on framing this piece and displaying it in my studio.  Thanks so much friends for letting me visit with you today.  Remember to come back often to see what the other members of the RubberMoon Design Team are up to.

Blessings,

Carmen
