DIY POSTCARD - HOLIDAY SEASON

Hello Everyone, Its me again, Heron the big.boi.journal Instagram owner https://www.instagram.com/big.boi.journal/. Welcome to my 5th blog.

I going to show you the whole process on my DIY Postcard. Here we go :

STEP 1 - IDEA

Mood Board.

Generally I will arrange a get a visual and the item that I want to use and arrange it accordingly. It will give some combination or collage idea on how my postcard will be.

STEP 2 - BASE

Base Layer 1

For the base layer I choose Artfoamies Foam Stamp - Postal by Cat Kerr. Inked with the Delicata Brown Shimmer and the result is absolute outstanding.

Base Layer 2

I am using Rubbermoon Esoteric Rubber Stamp by Sandra Evertson inked with the same Delicata Brown Shimmer. You can see how beautiful the stamp detail was.

STEP 3 - MAIN LAYERS

Stickers

Minimal number of sticker with striking color will be my main feature. Generally I have choose 2 major color. In this case as you can see the main color are Red & Green.

Stamps

I choosing the 100 Proof Press - Wood Steel Square Key Stamp to give more impact in my collage.

Washi Tape

Simple vintage washi tape will give some writing element to my design. The green leaf will give color impact in decorating the whole postcard scheme. I am using vellum paper as additional layer stamped with Rubbermoon Rubber Stamp Sugar Doddy by Kea Pea. Stick it with red washi. I'll show you the result on final image. Stay tuned.

Vintage Postal Stamp

Move along...this postal stamp will give more aesthetic impact on my postcard. I put initial layer of washi underneath of the stamp.

STEP 3 - FINAL TOUCH

Stamps

You can use a lot of things as a final touch such as washi, small stickers, paper cutting, inks
and many more. I am choosing one of my favorite stamp for 100 Press Proof - Kennedy Half Dollar. Check out the detail. Love it.

FINAL STEP - EXTRA SMALL DETAIL

Extra Details

Most people generally neglected this steps. This step where you make you design more unique and complicate by add small detail to your design. I personally will use left over of the the thing that we use in the previous step. See...  zero waste practice.. :).

RESULT

Here we go my DIY POSTCARD for this HOLIDAY SEASON. The main question now? To whom shall I sent this postcard?

Until next time. HAPPY HOLIDAY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! See y'all 2021

Autumnal Season Cards

Hi everyone!

It’s Emilie here.
I’m showing you today two simple and quick cards for this autumnal season.

Both of my cards measure 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches.

For the first card, I started to stamp the motif “Tree Rings” on two third of my card. I stamped on white cardstock the motifs “Dark Fern Leaf” and “Short Ginko Leaf” using respectively “Space moss” and “Black hole” Moonlight Duo Ink pads. Then I cut them out.

Next, I arranged the way I wanted the motifs to be. Once I was happy with the placements of all my elements, I glued them down and stamped the sentiment “True Free Spirit”.

For the second card, I used a yellowish watercolor that I simply spread out for the background. Then I stamped the Artfoamies stamp “Marrocan Tile” with the same color.

Next, I added text texture with the “Spark joy” stamp with a same color tone using “Sunshine yellow” Moonlight Duo Ink pad.

I chose this “fantasy flower” stamp for my focal image than I colored with watercolor and watercolor pencils.

Once again, I arrange all my elements before gluing them down.  I laid down first a piece of torn-edged vellum, a piece of light burlap and a piece of ribbon. I added some thread and stuck down my flower on top. At the end I added some yellowish watercolor splatters and stamped my sentiment “Sending you love and light”.

Have a great weekend and see you in December!

Halloween Polymer Clay Leggy Cube

Hello almost Halloween everyone!

I am Elitia Hart, metal art and mixed media explorer, and for this 100 Moons Creative Collaboration blogpost
I had lots of fun combining stamps
polymer clay "tiles" for this leggy cube.
Growing up in South Africa, Halloween was not a familiar concept
but since moving to Canada almost 20 years ago, I came to enjoy
the weird and wonderful creative opportunities presented by this holiday.

I have created a Youtube Video Slideshow with the techniques used to create this
Halloween Themed Leggy Cube and here is the link.

I am a big fan of Lisa Renner who creates "Bird Peeps" out of polymer clay - little bird bodies with humanlike faces. Inspired by her work, I combined the 100 Proof Press Bird Body from the SWplate55 Three Birds Plate with the sweet little face from Rubbermoon - Kae Pea | KP5072F - Sun Sweet - Rubber Art Stamp and for the backdrop, Artfoamie Kae Pea | Creative Concentrics - Celestial Rings| Foam Stamps.
The silver broom is a mixed media chip covered with aluminum foil tape and distressed with a scratchings and a Permapaque black ink marker.

I also used a combination of a Rubbermoon and 100 Proof Press rubberstamps to create this ''Wednesday Addams'' polymer clay tile and an Artfoamie for the backdrop tile.
and the girl's head from the 100 Proof Press SWplate55 Three Birds Plate

For the tile below I used the cute Rubbermoon Punkin rubber stamp with part of

For the substrate I painted a wooden cube black
as well as four wooden doll people to serve as the feet of the cube.
I used Cheep! silver paint and stamped the top of the cube with

and the cube corners with part of the spiderweb stamp from the

For the feet of the cube I painted the top part black, the bottom ball part with white gesso and when dry with Pebeo Vitrail Colour for glass Orange Gloss.
I attached strips of Aluminum foil tape

For the tea candle I stamped a strip of Aluminum Foil tape
with Black Stazon ink and the Rubbermoon mk781g Fall Border

I colored the design with Pebeo Vitrail Color for Glass :
 Greengold, Orange, Yellow and Lemon

For the Rubbermoon Halloween Mixed Media Chips I used
Aluminum Foil tape and sandwiched the chips between two layers.
I cut the shapes out and scratched details with a pencil.
I added Permapaque black marker ink and wiped away the excess
to leave black in the engravings.
