Digital Crafting with RubberMoon Stamps

Hello Everyone, It's me, Jeannie, with another creation using RubberMoon Stamps.

Today, I am using Barb Roger's Party on Wheels stamp.

To start off this digital creation, I stamped the trailer in black ink on white paper.

Next, I scanned the image and opened it in my photo editing program.

As you can see, it did not scan perfectly, so I needed to adjust and do some fill in and clean up on the image.

Here is the image all cleaned up and ready to go.  To use stamps like this and color them in, the way I do, I have to make sure that all the lines touched another black line, so that the color I used to fill in would have a stopping point.

(I hope that makes sense.)

After I did the digital coloring, I played around a little with some preset brushes and this is the final product.

Then I had to lift, for lack of better words, the image from the background so that I'd be able to move, just the trailer without the white background the original image was attached to or part of.

(Again, I hope that makes sense.)

Next, I found an image I wanted for my background. Then I altered it to my liking, as seen below.

Next, the FUN part!! 

Add your sentiment/phrase.

The beauty of creating digitally, you can use any sentiment you want!

After the background  was done, I dropped the trailer on the background.  

I fine tuned it by adding drop shadows, etc. to the image and phrase and this is the final image.

I printed 3, 4 x 6" images on one sheet.

I then cut out a trailer from one of the images.

I applied ink around the edges to add to the depth when used as a 3-D effect.

Then, I put all my pieces together and created a quick simple card.

This is a tri fold card and was a bit difficult to photograph.

Since I did not use the 3rd image for the card, it becomes a Postcard! 

 It is sized perfectly and has a fun image and sentiment, in addition to meeting postal standards!

If needed, I could have made the trailer bigger or smaller for whatever project I was using it for.

That is the beauty of creating digitally with your craft stash and RubberMoon Stamps.

Miniatures with Rubber Moon Stamps

Hi everyone it's me, Jeannie, here with a fun post and some things to share with you on the RubberMoon arts blog!

A couple a weeks ago I was part of a swap that was all about miniature things.  What first caught my eye about it was that the one and only MARY ENGELBREIT was in it!! 

So, of course, I got hooked  into being in it too.  I didn't get a Mary swap and Mary didn't get one of mine, but it was still worth it!!

My post today is a banner and table extras to go along with some of the Mini's that I got in my swap.

I used the Polka Dot heart on some Muslin.

After I stamped it, I colored it in with my Bic pens and then took the Checkerboard Background stamp and stamped the corners of the banner pieces.

Next I stitched around the banner pieces with thread.

The last step was to hand sew the banner pieces to a piece of ribbon, and some sweet little buttons and and the I love you phrase from the TO THE MOON AND BACK stamp.

Before I show you the Mini's from my swap, here is what I made(not the greatest picture) sorry...

But they are little mini suitcases, Mary Engelbreit style, of course.

Here are some of the miniatures I received in my swap. (with my Banner on display in the mix)

There is a little Mirror, an ABC primer, a Mini Screen door, a hand painted framed picture, mini box, mini tray, mini cake and a coat rack.

These are just the things I received that matched today's post.

But how fun!!  Don't you think??

I think the banner looks adorable with everything.

Oh, stamps are soo much FUN!!

There is always so much to do with stamps.

I am thinking how sweet it would be to make mini pillows or how about a mini quilt set for my next mini swap?  Hmm...maybe I should get started now!!

Jewelry for the Glampers

Today I have a fun project to share with all of you!

It is my own twist on the Zipper Bracelets that are popping up everywhere!

Since I am kind of making this up as I go along, here is a picture of some supplies I expect to use.

My RubberMoon Stamps will be stamped on some Shrink Film from Grafix Arts.

Here are the stamps I am using, a couple of cuties by Lindsay Ostrom

You need to stamp shrink film with a good solvent ink like StazOn.

The film is very smooth and the stamps can slide a little on the plastic, so stamp more than you will need, because you WILL smear some in the stamping process!

I used permanent markers to color the images in.  To make the polka dots, I used a blender pen to lift the color OFF of the image.

They are ready to bake.  Put them cut out shapes on a cookie sheet lined with medium weight cardboard and cover with vellum to keep the "curling", while cooking, under control

Here are the little trinkets.

Spray them with a sealer. Now on to the bracelet.

I have a regular polyester zipper and I have this rhinestone mesh that I am going to hand sew down one edge of the zipper.

Here is the sewing process.

On the other side, I hand sewed a ball type chain in place.

To seal the edges of the zipper so it won't continue to fray, gently hold it up to an open flame and watch the edges sizzle and seal.

Now you will take a crimp and crimp the edges inside the crimp piece.

Here it is all done, ready to be embellished.

Using jump rings and miscellaneous beads, and a lobster claw for the closure, to finish the bracelet to your liking. Adding the stamped trinkets.

Here you go a bracelet, every glamper will adore.

 These are a lot of fun to make!!  

This happens to be a gift for someone to remember me by...do you think my friend will like it??

I hope so.

After I got done with this post..I had a couple of extra pieces of RubberMoon shrink trinkets from a previous project.  I have a 7 year old who has just started pulling on her eyelashes.  Since I have an older daughter who has struggled with Trichotillomania for the past 7 years, and has not been able to overcome it, I am a little worried about my 7 year old.  

I told her I would make her a soft bracelet and she needs to try and feel the velvet on the ribbon, rather that her eyelashes.  I made a big deal out of making and giving this to her, so here it is with a little bit of RubberMoon joy. 

I just love mushrooms and this was made with the Shroom Bloom stamp. 

I am hoping that maybe something little might help distract her.  We shall see, it is tough when you have a little one with a compulsion like this, but I am hoping to just redirect her behavior.

It doesn't hurt to try!!
