I thought it may be a good idea to start posting our daily heART pics here!
This way we can have a photo gallery to refer to! YAY!

Hi, it's me Kae Pea. I have not blogged in months years. And geez, I figured it was high-time I get my butt over here and make a post! So many changes around the ol' moon and I have just been so remiss. I am not sure why I stopped blogging....oh yeah, it's because I live stream everyday for Daily heART and Get Makey EVERY Friday night on ArtFoamies Fun Friday and run ArtFoamies !? I can't remember exactly when I stopped blogging myself.... But I do know, for the past couple years my wonderful friend, Nancy Sheads has been overseeing and coordinating this space and a bunch of amazing artist friends have contributed posts and projects. I am so appreciative and grateful to them all for keeping the blog humming along. However, when I realized the blog still said RubberMoon Arts...I really knew it was time to get over here and say hi and make a few changes. Since I sold RubberMoon in March I figured the name was no longer fitting and so we have changed the name and would like to welcome you to the "Let's Get Makey" blog. I am so happy to say that no matter the name or changes that have come, we have been here sharing art and creative ideas, with RubberMoon, ArtFoamies for over ten years now! I thank you from the bottom of my heART for your years of support no matter how remiss my blogging abilities. xokp
....
One of the wonderful things about my Patron group (aka "moonies") is that we often host art swaps. This past year, or two we have done a variety of themed swaps including, tea, hearts, tiny treasures and peace flags. I recently took time to organize and display all of the art I received from these swaps. I just love receiving these handmade treasures from my friends and creating a piece for them in return. It is the happiest mail in the world to get....and it really makes my studio feel like my friends are with me. I wanted to share some pictures of these special pieces with you! If you are interested in art swaps with us, please join me on Patreon to become a part of our comMOONity of Makers.
Stay safe, stay sane and stay makey! Until next time,
Kreative with a Kae

Did you know that ANY shade of the *link* Moonlight Duo Tint & Hue ink pads will show up on black paper? As long as you blend the color with the white side of the pad it will show up as a tinted color on the black paper.☆ PRO TIP 2 ☆
The most important thing is to have a juicy ink pad to give good ink coverage on your ArtFoamies foam stamps. I used the *link* Moonlight White Tint & Hue re-inker by THE MOON & THE MAKER to freshen up my ink pad. A fresh re-inking of your ink pad can really make all the difference in how your stamped images look & turn out.☆ PRO TIP 3 ☆
Make sure to always shake the re-inker bottle well with the lid tightly screwed on before applying it to the ink pad.
☆ PRO TIP 4 ☆
If you wish to change out or move your images around on your background scenes, I suggest that you choose to use a removable adhesive or a reposistional adhesive.
VISUALIZE THIS: You are walking down a path through a fragrant flower garden on a summer night. You see the flashing lights of the fire flies. You see the far away light from our sun reflecting off of the planets & moons in our solar system. You see the other mysterious stars within our galaxy & galaxies beyond ours in the vast universe shining above you. You see Earth's moon reflecting the full glow of our solar system's sun, casting light, creating shadows & reflections. The heavily scented beds of blooms are absorbing the light of the moon causing them to glow & sparkle. The flowers look as if they have been painted with with phosphorescent paint and sprinkled with a fine powder of twinkling iridescent glitter. A rainbow halo appears around the massive super moon. A misty cooling fog slowly creeps in, curling its way around everything including you. It coats all it touches with a thick dew. The condensation becomes so heavy, it drips down the plant's petals & leaves. The reflection of the Moonlight creates a sparkling, dew drop diamond mine. Glistening gorgeousness surrounds you.You look on, gasping in disbelief as the bees, moths, butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies & hummingbirds transform into pixies & fairies flying all around you. They sip the dewy nectar from the flowers. It cools & refreshes them, quenching their thirst. Ghosts of sentient beings float amongst the fairies, haunting the garden paths. They seem to be enjoying this blissfully surreal sight right along with you. A fairy flutters close, then whispers in your ear, "they are your guardians, the spirits of lost loved ones, do not fear them, they mean you no harm."Suddenly mushrooms & toadstools begin magically rising up from the Earth. Expanding & unfurling to serve as tables & chairs for the fairies. Providing them a place to rest, play & create. Their own miniature art studio. They happily work together tediously & carefully choosing blossoms & greenery for their creations. Just before the rise of the light the fairies present you with a glorious crown of flowers they created especially for you. Flying around the crown they lift it and place it upon your head. They thank you for creating, planting & caring for such a beautiful flower garden fueling station for all of the pollinators. Especially the monarch butterflies on their way south at this time. As soon as the dawn begins to colorfully light the atmosphere they change back into bees, moths, butterflies, dragonflies & hummingbirds & the guardian spirits can no longer be seen. You are so thankful for a new day & more time to live, you whistle along with the cardinal birds that are announcing the beginning of a brand new day.
☆ PRO TIP 5☆
YOUR ARTFOAMIES ARE TWO SIDED! YES! YOU CAN STAMP THEM ON THE B SIDE TOO! Check your ArtFoamies to see which ones would look great stamped on the B side! Some allow you left & right symmetrical stamping & some come in left & right symmetrical sets so you can color the smooth side then stamp it as the background then stamp over it with the outline design side! YAY!☆ PRO TIP 6 ☆
I have several duplicates of my favorite ArtFoamies that I use most often so I can easily use one with dark ink & one with white ink without having to constantly clean them, wash them & dry them. I have spoiled my white ink pads so many times by inking up an ArtFoamies Stamp that has black ink on it & I did not know it. You cannot see black ink on a black ArtFoamies foam stamp. MAKE SURE YOUR ARTFOAMIES ARE ALL CLEAN & DRY PRIOR TO INKING. This will save you lots of time & frustration.
☆ PRO TIP 7 ☆
There are a few super fine detailed script, font & continuous fine line drawn ArtFoamies foam art stamp designs that I will not press down on to stamp like this. I am not using any of those ArtFoamies for this project though. A light touch must be used with those ArtFoamies designs.
☆ PRO TIP 8 ☆
If you are using the background in a frame, shadow box or shoe box theater, it is a VERY good idea to already have the paper precut & situated to the correct size & format to fit your project BEFORE you start stamping the layered background scenes. Decide if you want a moon stamped on the background & where you would like it's placement to be.
Hello, Patti Campbell here again. I know it seems a little early for Halloween, but it is big in my house so preparations have already begun. So today I'm going to share with you my spooky coffin shelf.
To start off I printed out a coffin template that I found online and traced it on to some sturdy cardboard twice.
I cut out and glued the two pieces together and taped around the edges with masking tape. This made the back of the shelf.
I cut 2 1/2" strips out of the cardboard long enough to fit around the coffin shaped back. Then I taped the edges of these pieces with masking tape to make a smooth edge.
I glued and taped the strips onto the back to make the sides of the coffin with the seam where they meet on the bottom. I glued and taped the seam.
I cut smaller cardboard pieces to make the shelves and glued and tapes those in place as well.
Then I took it outside and spray painted the whole thing black, inside and out. I also spray painted a 5x5 gesso board black to make a base for the coffin to stand on. Then when they dried I glued the coffin to the base.
I used the Botanical by Julie Balzer ArtFoamie to decorate the outside of the coffin. On black paper I stamped Bonehead by Sandra Evertson, and the poison bottle from Halloweenies set 1 by Red Tin Roof with Moonlight Duos in Moonlight White. I cut them out and used them to decorate the inside of the coffin.
I stamped Bailador and Muneca by Jone Hallmark on black paper and cut them out. I put them on the base in front of the coffin.
I took some moss from the craft store and glued it around the base and in a couple spots on the shelves. Then I added a few Halloween knick knacks and crystals to the shelves to complete it.
I hope you were inspired by my coffin shelf. Happy spooky season! Love and laughter, Patti.
Beings Journal
Hi, it's me, Patti Campbell again. I've been having a lot of fun lately covering journals and photo albums with canvases I painted. I wanted to share with you my Beings Journal. I draw so many of these beings I needed a place to keep them all together.
I took an old 8 1/2 x 11 blank journal with a boring, brown cover to use for my beings. I decided the cover needed some spunk.
As I was perusing through my ArtFoamies I came across Elizabeth St. Hilaire's Flora Elements stamp set and thought that they would make good hair for one of my beings.
So I got out my Golden acrylic paints, brushes, Ranger black Archival Ink, and a sheet of unstretched canvas. I painted the whole sheet turquoise, then began drawing the face. After the face was drawn I decided that along with the flower stamps I also wanted to use a couple of Kae Pea's Mod Moths.
I stamped one moth in the hair and one on her neck. Then I made a paper mask for the moth in the hair so I could stamp the flowers around it. I stamped the flowers out on paper and cut them out to make masks to allow the flowers to overlap as I was stamping them. I stamped out a bouquet for her hair.
I then painted in the details, and using a wash of white paint I went over the background behind her to make her pop.
The elastic on the journal was old and stretched out so I removed it and then glued her to the cover using a scrap of a stamp buddy and PVA glue.
Then I decided it needed a back cover as well. So I took another sheet of canvas and painted it turquoise to match the front cover. I painted different colored circles and after they dried I samped over them with the Flora Elements and the Mod Moths stamps. Then I glued it to the back cover.
Now my plain, brown, boring journal is a work of art and the perfect place to keep my beings.
Hope you're all having a wonderful summer so far!
Love and laughter,
๐Patti๐
P.S. no I did not get a heart tattoo on my hand, I was covering up a nasty burn so your eyes could be spared.
