Creating Painty Papers for Your Stash + Making Collages

Happy Friday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind- creating painty collage papers.

My favorite papers to use are old book pages, as well as kraft paper and packing papers. I just love taking my favorite paint colors and exploring mixing, layering, and mark making. I am also in love with inky marks and images, so taking stamps and layering over top of the paint just adds another dimension.

But then, what do you do with all of those papers? There are so many options, but one of my favorite is to transform them into collage.

For these collages, I took some old book covers from books I had disassembled and created the collages on the inside. I think the book covers add some color, and sometimes fun textures to the collages. If you don't have book covers, you could do it in an art journal, canvas, wood panel, or anything really.

I incorporated some fabrics and lace, as well as some stitching and other old papers. I am really happy with how they turned out! They make a great couple :)

Please check out the video, and I hope you are inspired to make some painty papers and collages of your own!
