Those Little People....and what to do with them.
RubberMoon's "Little People" stamps
charmed me from the beginning. Strange engaging little characters who seem up
for almost anything.......and they are! Perhaps you also find them
intriguing, but wonder how you will engage with them once they are home?
Today, we discuss some of the ways I've found to
keep those little people busy.
Let us agree from the beginning, that
1) All stamps can be: stamped in black or any
other color on white or on any other color, colored in or left as is,
stamped once or many times, alone or with other images, on tags, wrapping
paper, menus, greeting cards, lunch bags, food in the fridge, or stationary and
consenting family members. If there is a particular surface or use on my mind, I
will mention it, otherwise, anything goes. I am demonstrating some ways
to use the Little People images and how they work with other stamps. You can try these
ways and other ideas that work for you and send photos of them to us so we can show off
your RubberMoon adventures!
2) In general, stamps are used for
communication, either through words or images, conveying a specific message or
emotion.....just like all art. Think about what you want to convey with
your stamps......and how you want to convey it. Or, just stamp whatever,
wherever and make up the story later. Either way works. Sometimes
you learn a lot by trying to understand your work after you've done it rather
than directing it from the beginning. Some times you can just stamp without any story.
and
3) Most of these stamped activities can be done by larger people and other species as well, depending on whatever stamps you already own. Use your imagination. Today, I want to introduce you to my friends, the Little People of RubberMoon:
Regarding what the Little People can
do....really, what can they not do? Let's start a list.....
First of all, they make a great procession.
They like to mingle, or not mingle.....try
stamping multiple images to create a random or orderly pattern.....for
fun.......or to send a message.
They can carry all sorts of messages, in fact, via
signs, thought or speech bubbles,
ribbons......
...sometimes, they find themselves in unexpected places
They perform circus tricks, magic tricks, and
feats of strength
They can carry signs, balloons, umbrellas, each other, whatever's
necessary for the occasion:
I'll bet you're excited to try this now!
You're probably SO excited, you
don't even need someone to draw action lines around you!
You're among friends!
They are so friendly, capable, and entertaining, that I just know you will come up with some fun ways of playing with your new little friends.
We'd love to hear about your experiments. Please send us photos of your own adventures!

About Ceci
I have always enjoyed stamps and stamping. I have been collecting stamps for many years and began carving them from erasers in my teens. I enjoy carving my own, collecting those made by others, and playing with them to give voice to stories, thoughts, and feelings as well as color and excitement to otherwise barren surfaces.

ReplyDeleteCeci. This is pure delight! Thank you for sharing your star light!!! xo
ReplyDeleteThese could not BE more fun. You are a true ambassador for stamping, RubberMoon in particular. I know the Little People are thrilled to be caught in the act of being themselves. So imaginative. xo
ReplyDeleteI love your use of little bitty stamps to make whole larger scenes. I like using little bitty stamps on little bitty papers. So I'll have to try this.
ReplyDeleteHow something so little and so "black and white" can speak volumes? Well, my dear you did the best job of illustrating that point I have ever seen. Thank you, madam!
